I remember your Mother well Jane and Mike. I attended Bates many moons ago along with my parents Floyd and Frankie Adams. Dad passed away a year and a half ago and we have Mother with us in Fort Worth, Texas. Even though my Mother has Alzheimers she knew your Mother's name when I told her she us up in heaven with Dad now. She smiled and held my hand. She remembers her and I do too. Those were wonderful times back then in the 70's. You take care and please write me if you can. Love, Kathy Adams-Spencer

Jane Ellen and Mike;
Your Mom and Dad meant so much to me over the years I grew up at Bates. Nell had such a giving spirit, a creative eye, and a gifted hand. Everything she did was done in love for others. I will long remember her laughter and her shining example of God's love in this world. My God keep you in comfort and constant care at this time. Chaplain Thomas Lilly New Orleans, Louisiana

Jane Ellen and Mike - I am so sorry for your loss. Had I known, I would have come home to see her and you guys. She was a very special, vibrant woman with huge integrity and ability to give. A great role model for all women and inspired me through my high school and early married years. She gave so much to others. And it sounds like your mom was a "doer" right up to the end. You know how special your mom was to me. I will never forget her for all her help and guidence and all the time I spent with you guys and as part of your family. My thoughts will be with you. Jane Ellen, please contact me. My business has a toll free line: 866-835-4914. Take care.

“She is Gone"
You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone
or you can cherish her memories and let them live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she’d want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Jane Ellen and Mike,
I'm so sorry to hear today about your mom's death. She was so very dear to my entire family. She was a big part of most of the important moments of my life since I moved to Huntington. She gave me advice during high school and before my wedding. She and your dad set so many wonderful examples that I try to follow.
I want so much to be there with you at this time but my children have events Sunday that I cannot miss. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and I will contact you again soon.
