Danny and Dean, I just read of the passing of your mom. I am so sorry. You both spoke so lovingly of her. The times I met her, she always greeted me with a smile. May you remember her with a full heart and good memories.

Don & family. It was with deep sorrow when we learned of Lila's passing. Our thoughts go back to the last time we saw her with you at Crooks Cemetary. What a happy person she always was. We think back to earlier times when we would see her at home taking care of the kids running around in the yard when we would stop by to pick you up for the races. She was always greatly admired and will continue be in our thoughts and prayers as well as you and the family. Ron & Freddie

To Lila's Family: Lila was a fine lady, a professional and a dedicated member of the clerical work forces in the Huntington area railroad community. I know she will be mourned by her many friends in that peer group. Her high standards were an example to all those around her in an era of worker comraderie that is also passing away.

Dear family members, I worked with Lila in the Chessie System O.H. Building on Madison Avenue in Huntington. I have known her as a coworker and friend for approximately 36 years. She was always such a perfect lady and a delight to talk to, work with, and share family stories with. I have not met you personally but I feel like I have because of Lila's sharing her love for you with me. We always laughed together and sometimes cried together. I especially remember the loss of Doug. Your mother was very strong in her faith and shared her hurts and blessings in life with me and I knew she was a very special, special friend of mine. The picture of her is exactly the way I remember her, all through the years, with her smile and the tilt of her head. The last time I saw her and talked with her was at the Huntington Mall. I work at the Great American Cookie store and she would stop by and say hello. The last time was several months ago. I knew she was battling a health problem but she never complained and would always talk of her family and mine. My love and prayers go out to you all. Your names are so familiar to me but without faces. I am missing her too. Brenda Carrico, Marshall University employee now, former C&O Railway, Mechanical Department coworker with Lila.
