I am Penny's cousin. Her mother, Josephine White Cole, and my mother, Connie White Maynard, were sisters. When Penny was a little girl they lived in Williamson, WVa and we would go on occasion and visit and they would come to see us on the farm in Hode, KY. Penny was a beautiful child. After I graduated from high school (I am a few years older than Penny) we didn't see a lot of each other because I moved to Louisville, KY. The times we did see each other will always remain in my heart. I wanted to thank her church family, the Farmdale Church of Christ, for the beautiful service and their affection and kind remarks to my 2 sisters (Ursula Dingess and Rosemary Salmons) who were able to attend the funeral. Penny's short life here on earth was somewhat marked with sadness and ill health. She is at rest now. She will be fondly remembered by our family.

We are so sorry that Penny had to suffer on this earth but now she has a eternal home with family and loved ones and most of all her dear Savior. We will miss her and think of her and her family, My Uncle Milton Cole, Aunt Joe and Mary White who was Joesphine Cole's mother. I would like to thank anyone who has helped Penny (Alberta) in her time of need. We didnt live near her and truly appreciate any help the church or friends have sent her way. Once again I thank you all and thank the Funeral home for this kind website where others can drop a line and give their thoughts. Thanks again Sharon

Back in 1990 I had a biology class with Alberta at Marshall. I was only 17/18 yrs old and she was old enough to be my mom. I remember she had a cane and had trouble walking back then. I would help her carry her books and she sat beside me. On my birthday she gave me a picture to hang on the wall and she wrote a lovely note on the back of it. I still have it packed away in my memory boxes. I never saw Alberta after that class, but I have never forgot what a nice friend she was to me. I was just a young girl, away from home for the first time, and she was so very kind to me. My condolences to her family.
