Christalee Chapman RayCHRISTALEE CHAPMAN RAY, 79 Catlettsburg, KY., formely of Barboursville, WV., passed away Monday, October 16, 2006 at Hospice Care Center at Ashland, KY.

She was born November 28, 1926, in Branchland, WV., the daughter of Iva Shuff and William Watson. Mrs. Ray was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she ws preceded in death by one husband, Samuel L. Chapman Jr., and a son, Rodney Chapman. Also a brother, Okey Watson and a Great Grandson, Ashton Rowe.

Surviving, are her husband, Bill Ray, and three daughters. Sheila (Bob) Griffin, Jeannie (Sid) Smith of Huntington, and Lynn Erwin and her fiancee (E.J.) of Ironton, OH. Also four sons, Sam (Shirley)Chapman of Huntington, William Chapman of Texas, Ronnie (Janet) Chapman and Jack Chapman of Huntington. She also had two step children, Dee Dee (Lee) Stratman of Florida. and Lee Ray of Florida.

Mrs. Ray has 18 grand children, 10 step grand children and 22 great grandchildren. She had two very special friends and caregivers, Kim Pierce and Gail Hamilton. She also has two brothers, Glen (Dorcas) Watson of Huntington, Ed (Chris)Watson of Ona. She also has a sister-in-law, Patricia Watson in Florida.

Mrs. Ray was a member of First Huntington Christian Baptist Church in Huntington, where she was a Sunday School teacher.

Grandsons of the Mrs. Ray will be the pallbearers.

Service will be 11:00AM, Friday, October 20, 2006, at Hesnon Mortuary, Barboursville.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 19, 2006, from 7-9PM at the Mortuary. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Rick Watson and Rev. William Koontz.

Bill & family: It is very hard to say Goodbye to someone you love, especially a wife or parent. She was a dear cousin and I will never forget going to her house with my parents. She is now in the arms of our Lord.

Dear Mr.Ray and her children: First of all I am the neice of Cindy and Tommy Chapman. My mother and Cindy were sisters. You had a wonderful wife and mother kids. Its a lose like no other. Trust in the Lord. Whenever, we were together, she always found me, and we enjoyed our talks. She is now out reach, but not out of mind. Love in Prayers, Sandy
