1936 - 2007
ARLENE M. STOOKE, 70, beloved wife, mother, sister, and Grannie, joined her Heavenly Father on January 1, 2007. She had battled illnesses as any warrior would in the past few years. In her peace she leaves behind her husband, David E. Stooke, of Ona, two daughters, Dr. Kim Stooke, of Parkersburg, WV, Brenda and Jake Stooke, of Ona, WV. One sister, Arveta McKim, Columbus, OH. Arlene volunteered her time in church, local schools, 4_H clubs, the local youth track programs and anywhere else that had a need. She also pioneered the Marshall University womens Track and Field Team in 1976, which she coached for 9 years. She has touched the lives of those who were in her company and for this we are forever blessed.

Mr. Stooke, Kim and Brenda,
I am sorry to hear of Arlene passing.
I remember meeting her when I was about 5 years old in the Barboursville public library.
I also remember her coaching us in AAU Track when we were younger.
What do you say when you lose a wife and a mother? I guess remember the moments you had. I have only fond rememberance of her.
I am truly sorry for your loss.

We read with sadness of the death of Coach Stooke. Karen was a track athlete at Marshall University 1977-1981 under Coach Stooke, the red headed skinny girl from Gallipolis, Ohio. And Patty of course is my Mother and was our #1 fan in the stands. Coach Stooke was a wonderful person and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to all of you.

Dear family.....We are very sorry for your loss. We have great memories of Arlene and pictures of her in our photo albums with our children. We truely loved her, and always enjoyed our "tete a tetes" catching up with each other's children. Our hearts and prayers go out to you at this time.

Kim,
I was so shocked to hear of your mother's passing. I only met and talked with her a few times, but my first impression of her was that she was intensely involved in the lives of her children. She beamed with a positive attitude every single time I saw her. You have the same smile. Take care and hold all your memories close. You had a terrific mom. May God give you comfort in this time of sorrow.
Stephanie
