Rita Carol MidkiffRITA CAROL MARION MIDKIFF, 55, of Barboursville, formerly of Charleston, wife of Michael Midkiff, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Rita was an amazing person with a tremendous heart. She had a love of angels, which she collected. Her greatest love and commitment, though, was for her family and close friends. In addition to her husband, Rita is survived by daughter, Johna Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Karon Marion; very special grandson, Alex Marion; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Patti Novak; very special aunt and uncle, Dorothy and Roland Grabfelder; nieces and nephews, Joey Beth Novak, Callie Novak, Tammy Anderson, Becky Johnson, Karen Ritter, Cindy Yent, Richard Novak II, Shane Cleghon, Joseph Midkiff and Morgan Midkiff; mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Hampton Midkiff; and brother and sister-in-law, Gerry and Willa Midkiff. Also surviving are many special friends, Connie Brumfield, Sheila Cooper, Jean Morgan and Judy Perdue; and her second family at Barboursville Wal-Mart, where she worked. Rita was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Huntington. She truly loved all her friends there, especially Monsignor Luciana. Rita will always be missed beyond words. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Henson Mortuary, East Pea Ridge. Funeral liturgy will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Huntington. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park. The family welcomes flowers, or donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church of Huntington.
