Gladys Madge  HicksGLADYS MADGE "MAW-MAW" HICKS, 100, of Barboursville passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, in Chateau Grove Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Henson Mortuary by Dr. Ed Grant and the Rev. Ralph Sager. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, South Point. She was born Nov. 25, 1902, in Wetzel County, West Virginia, daughter of the late James Lee and Ida May Shuman Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clare Hicks in 1968, and a sister, Constance Adeline Goulding. Mrs. Hicks was a retired bookkeeper with Wheeling Steel. She was a member of Burlington United Methodist Church in South Point, First United Methodist Church of Huntington and the Order of Eastern Star, Bridgeport, Ohio. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James Leroy and Peggy Sue Hicks of Barboursville; a sister, Nell Jane Williams of Warren, Mich.; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Wilburn and Jeanne Hicks of Wheeling, W.Va.; grandchildren James Reed and Lyn Hicks of Ona, Lisa Gail and Bill Omohundro of North Carolina; and great-grandchildren James Corbett, Kyri Lanelle and Ethan Bradley Hicks of Ona. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Henson Mortuary.
