ESTHER S. MATTSON, 92, of Huntington passed away Sept. 29, in Heartland of Riverview Care Center, South Point, Ohio. Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dana Sutton and the Rev. Jean Sutton. Burial will be in Bay View Cemetery, Jersey City, N.J. She was born Jan. 21, 1910, in Jersey City, N.J., daughter of the late Otto and Olivia Lindman Carlson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Mattson in 1979; a brother Charles Carlson and daughter Carol E. Magnuson. Mrs. Mattson was a homemaker and member of Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Janet Mattson of Huntington; son-in-law Ronald Magnuson of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren Gwen Irby of Arizona, Lisa Sifford of Huntington, Tammy Clamann of Richmond, Va., and Jason Magnuson of Hawaii; and great-grandchildren Kirsten and Stefan Clamann. Contributions may be made to Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church Building Fund. There will be no visitation. Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, is entrusted with arrangements.
