Richard Thomas, 76, of Crown City, Ohio was born in Huntington WV to the late Henry and Janie Thomas on May 15, 1944 and peacefully passed away at home with family on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He leaves behind three daughters Janith Conner, Terena McWhorter, Tammy Pope along with their mother Lois Thomas; his five grandchildren Joshua Thomas, Tashika McWhorter, Tyler Pope, Cassie Thomson, Marlena Conner; and eight great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife Eleanor Thomas, two sisters and brother in laws, brother and sister in-laws Paul and Irene Thomas, Frank and Rosemary Atkinson, Chet and Judy Thomas, Sam and Gloria Stapleton; and granddaughter Kristen Conner. He retired from WV Coal Mines and Gallia County Local Schools. He was an avid hunter, fisher and loved to spend time with family, bowl and ride his Harley. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington, WV. Burial will follow. No visitation will be held.
