 Carnice Tye, 88, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Friday, August 17, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor Bob Withers. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born April 28, 1919, in Corbin Kentucky, a son of the late John Author and Julie Ingles Tye. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and a veteran of World War II, worked as a coal miner, and was a member of the 7th Avenue Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife Gilla Tye, and sister Pamela Lake. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Catherine Tye of Barboursville, WV, and Marris and Marty Tye of Kettering, Ohio; one sister, Elizabeth Howard of TN; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2007 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington, Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Cindy Pinson and Hospice of Huntington for their care during Carnice’s illness. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. I have very fond childhood memories of visiting in Man at your house at the end of the bridge and your Father coming to visit us to go rabbit hunting on the farm. Your Mother and Father both were always smiling and so gracious and seemed to so enjoy company.
