Ferry W. AdkinsFerry W. Adkins, 74, of Salt Rock, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at the Hospice House of Huntington after a courageous and long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Rev. Charlie Rakes and Pastor Ernie Ray Vance. He was born June 3, 1933, in Wayne County, WV, a son of the late Lawrence Adkins and Roma Dillon Adkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Shannon, Tommy, and Kenneth; sisters, Lorene Adkins, Imogene Marcum, and Maedell Adkins. He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Elfa M. Adkins; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy D. Adkins-Smith and Boyd Allen Smith; two precious grandchildren which were the love of his life, Ethan W.A. and Austin P. Smith all of Salt Rock; sisters, Norma Fisher of South Point, OH; Lois Tallent of Fairborn, OH; special neighbors, Kim Ramey and Mark Ramey; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. He was retired from General Motors, Euclid, OH. He was a trustee and a member of Good Hope Freewill Baptist Church. A very special thank you to St. Mary’s Oncology Staff and Doctors, Hospice of Huntington, and all the prayers of family and friends through these trying times. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Condolences may be expressed to family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

he was always sweet to me when i was a kid...i didn't get to see you all often but i always liked uncle ferry...his suffering is over now. god bless.
