Mrs. Helen Louise Perdue, 90, of Milton, WV went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 10, 2008. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, January 14, 2008 at Forest Memorial Park Mausoleum, Milton, by the Rev. Dicky Jobe. She was born August 17, 1917 in Milton, WV, a daughter of late Fred and Vernice Smith Patterson. She was a member of Milton Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Opie Perdue; one daughter and son-in-law, Sara Perdue Bird and Michael; sisters, Dixie Patterson, Delora Lily and Betty Lou Patterson, and brother, Bill Patterson. She is survived by thirteen children and their spouses, Carolyn and Ed Brown, Milton, Charles and Sue Perdue, Warner Robbins, GA, Patsy and Denver Rogers, Midwest City, OK, Brenda and Ed Fleming of Orlando, FL, Bonnie and Richard Bellamy of Schereville, IN, Fred and Debbie Perdue, of Orlando, FL, Sherry and Donald Harvey of Lake City, FL, Joe and Nancy Perdue of West Palm Beach, FL, Mary and Larry Kinnard of Culloden, WV, Harry and Carol Perdue of Orlando, FL, Jerry Perdue of Orlando, FL, Martha and Bob Boyer of Hammond, IN, and Debby and Dicky Jobe of Milton, WV; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Jordan of Milton and special sister-in-law, Virginia Patterson, of Milton, and her very special caregivers, Anna Wilson, Gail and Joey Taylor, and Marjorie Templeton, all of Milton. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, Huntington City Mission or to the Gideons. What a zest for life that Helen had, I think that is why she also seemed so youthful and much younger than she actually was. She was a very gracious lady. I will continue to think about her everytime I walk past the Estee Lauder counter at Macy's, and get a whiff of Youth Dew Eau de Parfum. Rest in Peace. Debbie Chapman-Riggs

We are so sorry to hear about Helen's passing. Just know she was a very special lady! How she raised fourteen children and took on all of us, I will never know! I find myself wishing my kids had someone like Helen in there lives.. She will live on in our memories and hearts, forever! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!!
