I am shocked to hear about the passing of Brian. I was just thinking of him and was going to try and find him and came across this... I knew Brian when I lived in Huntington in 1993 and was very good friends with him. My prayers go out to his family for their loss... I am in such shock.

I still remember playing home run derby in your back yard with a plastic wiffle ball bat and a sock wrapped in duck tape. I remember how excited I was to spend the night at your house. Was just thinking about you. Thanks for the memories. See you on the other side cuz.

What a kind soul her was! I remember that he was always picking up my spirits in school no matter how bad my day. I will still see his smiling face in the front of that car while we were on the way to the dance. I was lucky to have been able to double date with him. God has a very special person beside him. To the Adkins Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of Brian. I have fond memories of him and his wonderful smile. He always made me laugh no matter what. I moved away several years ago and havent seen him but thought of him often. I can still remember the times he would talk abot Brad and how proud he was of him. I have known Brian since we were in Grammer School together. In Jr. high he nicknamed me Rocky, is was a free spirit and a great person. I am saddened to know that he has left us so soon. May God be with his family in this time of grief, Brian now flys with the angels. RIP my friend.

Brian Gale Adkins, 38, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 16, 2009 at St. Marys Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Minister Emual Adkins and Rev. Heron Adkins. Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery. He was born on October 7, 1971, a son of Harold G. Adkins and Lois E. Dean Adkins of Huntington. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Ruth Dean. He is also survived by one daughter, Jordan Brianne Adkins; one brother, Brad A. Adkins of Huntington; paternal grandparents, Clifton and Darlene Adkins of Huntington; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Chris Adkins, Ronnie Lee Dean, Michael Jackson, Scott Fletcher, Scott Perry, Steve Perry, Chris Dean, Chuckie Dean and Dave Brown.
