Jerry W. DyerJerry W. Dyer, 72, of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at his home where he was surrounded by loving family. He graduated from Guyan Valley High School in 1956. He retired from Bell Atlantic Communications and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He attended Christ Temple Church. He was born November 13, 1938, the son of the late Dewey and Norma Webb Dyer of Ranger, WV, he is survived by loving wife, Vickie (Porter) Dyer, three daughters, Christi Tabor (Dave) of Wayne, WV, Andrea Fowler (Lane) of Huntington, WV, and Karla Dyer Bell of Nitro, WV; three step-daughters, Shannon Allen (Dwayne), of Chesapeake, OH, Christy Hager of South Point, OH and Donnell Nicely (Chris) of South Point, OH; three brothers, Curtis Dyer (Bobbi) of Sebastian, FL, Ron Dyer (Tara) of Huntington, WV, Danny Dyer (Lauri) of Milton, WV, three sisters, Imogene Hatfield (Troy) of Huntington, WV, Betty Adkins of West Hamlin, WV, Patty Davidson (Gary) of Pensacola, FL, sister-in-law Wavy Dyer of Barboursville, WV; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews as well as special sister and brother-in-laws, Lisa and Tony Novotny of Virginia Beach, VA and Johnny and Sue Porter of Lewisburg, WV; also his four-legged companion, Luci. He is preceded in death by wife, Yvonne (Pennington) Dyer and brother, Ancil C. Dyer. Special thanks to Dr. Arvinder Bir, Denise Robertson and the staff at HIMG Oncology, as well as Hospice of Huntington. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, followed by interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, WV. Dear Andrea, Christi and Karla, When I think back growing up, the first thing that comes to mind is spending so much time at your house with your folks. This is to my mother Vickie Dyer..I just want you to know how much we love you. We know you took such great loving care for our step father and done everything in your power to make him comfortable, pain free and most of all loved. you are a wonderful mother, friend, wife, nurse, and teacher. Jerry loved you very much and knows how well you took care of him. You litterally was by his side throughout his illness and would didnt leave him for a second.. you are a wonderful person. im sorry you have to go through this. i truley love you and you know we are here for you.
