Lawrence David "Tom" Hightower, 80, of Salt Rock, WV, passed away May 23, 2011 at home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with Clark Childers officiating. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery, Salt Rock. He was born April 9, 1931, in Logan, WV, a son of the late George Lee and Annie Opal Kuhn Hightower. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, George E. Hightower and Billie Lee Hightower. He left behind his sisters and brothers, Rebecca Hightower, Betty Carroll, Nora Childers, Linda Murphy, Bernard Hightower, Charles Hightower, and Hughie Hightower; he was like a father to Harry Leslie Holland, Tommy Holland, Mareia Holland, Cindy Holland, and Terry Carroll and was like a grandfather to ten grandchildren.
