1923 - 2011
Ida M. Finley, 88 of Joplin, MO, formerly of Proctorville, OH, passed away May 22, 2011 as a result of the tornado. Mrs. Finley was born May 12, 1923 in Logan County, WV. She had worked at Continental Can for 31 years and moved to Missouri in July 2009 from Proctorville, OH. She married James A. Finley on July 8, 1942 in Huntington, WV and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 2006. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jan Robin Finley, a daughter, Marsha Kay Finley, and a grandson, George Arthur Osborne. She is survived by a son, Clinton R. Finley, Joplin, MO; three grandchildren, Christina R. Finley, Arin Lunsford and Joseph Holtzman; four great- grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren; a brother, William Raymond Cartmill of Hurricane, WV and one sister, Nellie Mae Hutchinson, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be Friday from 11-12:30 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Clinton and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Midred's passing and especially in such a tragic circumstance. She was such a funny and special lady. She and Jimmy were so good to Donny during the time he stayed with them, and he will never forget them. You are in our prayers. Please let us know if we can help in any way.
