I had the honor to work closely with Capt. Hall when he headed the drug unit, at that time he was not yet a captain and I worked out of the prosecuting attorney's office. I had the highest respect for him and will miss him immensely. I extend my most profound sympathy to his family.

I just got back from vacation at Va Beach. Before I left the beach this morning, a man on a campsite next to mine came over to talk. He was from West Va and a small town near Huntington. When I told him I had two friends that live in Huntington and told him your names, he went into his camper and handed me the Saturday issue of The Herald Dispatch. He was also a Baptist Minister, we had prayer for you and your family. What a small world. I have the utmost respect for Steve and I am so proud to have known him from high school onward. He will be missed by all that knew him. Truly a great man who had a dream of becoming a Huntington police officer in high school, realized that dream, made a beutiful family, and left this world with a legacy few men will ever achieve.

I knew Steve since he was 6 or 7. Our family went camping in Virginia with his family and my children. I was so pround of him at his accomplishments in the Polce Deparment and with his family. I know he is in a better place within the arms of God and will not suffer anymore. I know he will be missed by his parents and family. My prayers and love are with them.

We met Steve when our daughter, Karen, first started softball at age 9. He was her first coach, and we couldn't have asked for a better one. Steve was a kind and compassionate man. He and Lisa raised a wonderful family, and we love them all.
