 Dennis Edward Adkins Jr., 84, of Ona, WV, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011, at Forest Memorial Park, Mausoleum, by Pastor Mark Finley, Pastor Paul Meadows, and Pastor David Cardwell. He was born May 24, 1927, in Cabell County, a son of the late Dennis Edward Adkins Sr. and Vesta Chapman Adkins. He is survived by his wife, Edra Gibson Adkins; one daughter, Rhonda Layne; two sons, Larry Adkins and Rodney J. Adkins; step-daughter, Ladoska Sheree Yeager; one sister, Bonnie Burks; one brother, Donald Adkins; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Dennis will be sadly missed by his neighbors, family and friends including special neighbors, Pat and Willie Rose. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV, 25702. We were sadened by the loss. Replet Road in Hacker Valley where he had his camp will never be the same. I have many fond memories on that hill and he was a great neighbor. Dennis will be greatly missed. We are very sorry for the families loss.
