 Freda Maxine Dean, 64, of Wayne, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2011, at St. Marys Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Johnny Jackson. Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery. She was born September 3, 1946, in Wayne, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Golden Dean and Ruth Ross Dean. She was also preceded in death by two nephews, Marc Anthony Richards and Brian G. Adkins. She is survived by two sons, Steve and Judy Perry of Powell, OH, and Brian Scott Dean and Barbara Norris of Powell, OH; three brothers, Charles Bugs and Glenna Dean of Wayne, Richard and Dreama Dean of Barboursville, Ronnie and Angie Dean of Huntington; three sisters, Dottie Dean of Wayne, Ruby and Ray Brown of Huntington, and Lois and Harold Adkins of Huntington; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Joshua Perry, and McKenna and Dylan Dean; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. The family would like to thank Tammy and the rest of the nursing staff at St. Marys Open Heart Recovery. The loss was hard, but I'm left with a lot of happy memories. She was a wonderful aunt who always made me feel like she cared for and loved me. I love her and will miss her.

The great artist and sculptor, Michelangelo once said, "If we have been pleased with life, we should not be displeased with death, since it comes from the hand of the same master." I know she was pleased with the life she spent here on earth and I wish that my aunt Freda could have been with us much longer. But I am comforted with the fact that she is in Heaven with the Lord. She will be missed.
