 Robert Lee "Robbie" Adkins, 71, of Branchland, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Pastor David Cardwell and Rev. Johnnie Gue, Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. He was born April 17, 1940 in Branchland, a son of the late Perry Green and Alta Jeffers Adkins. He is survived by his wife, Freda Gayle Rutherford Adkins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Dewayne and Sherry Adkins and Jimmy Lee and Fredia Adkins; step-daughters, Kathy Lyles, Rhonda Ashworth, Tina Webb, and Debby Merritt; step-sons, Steve Henderson, Randy Ashworth, and Billy Merritt; two sisters, Elfa Adkins and Deloris Gue; two brothers, Ronald and Darrell Adkins; seven grandchildren, eighteen step-grandchildren, one great grandchild and five step great grandchildren. So sorry for your loss. I know Robbie was a wonderful friend to my Papaw Cash, and they are fishing together in heaven. Prayers for your family during this time.

We met Robbie at chemotherapy at HIMG several years ago, and my husband John and I really enjoyed getting to Robbie and Gayle. I will always remember his smile, and I think of him every time I pick my 'volunteer' tomatoes.
May God comfort you at this time.
I know John was there to greet Robbie at his Homecoming in Heaven!
