1932 - 2011
Joan White, 79, of Huntington, WV, was called home Sept 1, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Guy and Alma Snider of Barboursville. She was preceded in death by Clyde White, her husband of 49 years. Those who were privileged enough to know Joan knew of her kind hearted nature and loving spirit she had for life, friends and family. As her girls grew, she was involved in every aspect of their lives, from school, sports and organizations. Her unconditional love and support cannot be described. The void in the hearts of her loved ones will be filled with memories of her laughter, beautiful smile, soft touch and tender heart. Living with the special memories are her three daughters: Tammy Rollyson of Huntington, Teena Vogel (David) of Virginia Beach; and Terri Bay (Wolfgang) of Virginia Beach. She was a special grandma to Jason Rollyson (Michelle) of Huntington; Nate Rollyson (Katie) of Denver, Co.; Hannah and Ethan Vogel of Virginia Beach; Sebastian, Caeman, Piper and Carsten Bay of Virginia Beach. She was a precious granny to her three great-grandchildren, Caroline "Gracie" and Amelia Rollyson of Huntington; and Luke Rollyson of Denver, Co. Her sister Barbara Dunkle (Dennis) of Barboursville; brother Jerry Snider (Lou) of Huntington; and brother Raymond (Elaine) of Martinsville, Ind., will hold and cherish their memories of their sister, along with many special nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their compassion and care during Joans brief stay. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial contribution be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702 so that they may continue to provide peace and solace to those in need. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Sunday, September 4, 2011, at 2 p.m. by Pastor Brady Butch Lipscomb, family friend. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements.

Tammy, Teena & Terri: This is a difficult time at the end of a difficult summer. We talked with your Mother often over the years, and always felt delight her conversation and humor left with us. We will miss her so very much, but know we will see her spirit in her daughters and grandchildren. Raymond & Elaine

Words can never express the friendship I had with Jo.She taught me many things through the years, making stawberry jam, that we picked the strawberries at her parents, was one of those things. She always had the time to listen and care. Everytime we talked she would end saying give Jack a big hug and kiss for me. I can honestly say, the world lost a great person, she will never be forgotten.
