1936 - 2011
 Lewis E. Powers Sr., 75, of Milton, widower of Phyllis McHenry Powers, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born January 6, 1936, in Ashton, W.Va., a son of the late Donald and Bessie Martin Powers. He is survived by one son Eddie Powers and his friend Brenda; special nephew, Michael Powers who he considered to be a son; three sisters, Della Given, Phyllis Hickman and Donna Cooper; two brothers, Lester Powers and Arthur Powers. He was retired from Blenko Glass Company after 51 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and also a member of the American Legion Post 139, Milton who will be performing military graveside rights. He also served on the City of Hurricane Water Board. The family would like to thank the hospice house for their great care in his final hours and also to a host of friends who were around in the time of need, Michael, Donna, Pat, Jim, Karen, Melissa, Brian, Donna, Kim, Daren, Doug, Cathy, Sharon, Lynn, Marty and Greg. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Mark Hesson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. In lieu of flowers donation may be sent to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. I met phylis 12 years ago back in Marion, Ohio,,,I sold her family;s home there....later my family was treated by phylis & lewis to a stay in a little cabin outside hurricain i wish I had thought to reach out to them earlier...both good people
