 Ruth Naomi Rider, 94, of Ona, WV, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2011, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born June 9, 1917, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late George and Amy Davis Woodard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ted Rider and one grandson, Tracy Paul Ryder. She is survived by her daughter, Vivian Collins with whom she made her home; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul Dwaine and Penny Ryder; grandchildren, Susan (Brian) Weinberger, Cindy (Kevin) Lewis, Bridget (James) Collins, Stacy (Steve) Carson, and Kari Ryder; step grandchildren, Sheena (Jeff) Priest, Chris (Brandy) Chapman; great grandchildren, Stephen (Missy) Lusher, Alex and Josh Carson, Chloe Lusher, Mahaila Ryder, Noah Ryder, and Curtis Ryder; step great grandchildren, Jeremiah Samples and Ethan Ward. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. The family would like to thank Cabell Huntington Home Health Care for their care and support. sorry to read about the passing of Mrs. Rider. I have shopped at their store for 50 some years. I enjoyed talking with Beck and Mrs. Rider many times. My wife always wanted to go to their store. I worked at the WHTN and WOWK Tv and passed their store twice a day all these years. stopping to buy food for the day. They had the bese chese. I miss seing them after Beck died. My heart and prayers go out to Vivian and Paul and the entire Ryder family. Mommy and Ruth were such good friends. We were up to visit Ruth Memorial Day wk-end and I am glad I got to see her again. We loved her with all of our heart, she was so very sweet. We'll miss her dearly.
