Jearlen "Granny" Ward, 88, of Huntington, went home to be with Jesus on November 8, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. November 12, 2011, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Evangelist Joey Holland and Pastor Bill Adkins. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. She was born April 21, 1923, in Port Homer, Ohio, a daughter of the late Russell and Bertha Barber Reed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Omster Lee Ward; two sons, Melvin and Leonard Ward; three sons-in-law and four grandsons. She is survived by four daughters, Wilma Jean Holland, Sonja (David) Curry, Charlotte Stevens, and Shirley Hankins; one son, William Ward; 26 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; one brother, Junior Reed; one sister, Audrey Myers; three special grandkids, Randy Ward, Dara Curry and Dennis J. Holland II Baby D.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Petrany, Hospice of Huntington, Allied Nursing, Loveones in home care, and special caregiver, Tina Holland.
