1926 - 2011
 Denzil Childers, 85, of Barboursville, WV, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, December 9, 2011. Funeral services will be postponed. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery. He was born September 20, 1926 in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Gilbert Childers and Minnie Porter Childers. He was a former employee of the US Postal Service and was a retired employee of Cabell County Board of Education and the Wallace Funeral Home. He was a US Army veteran serving in World War II and was a member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a fifty year member of Minerva Lodge No. 13 A. F. & A. M. Barboursville, whose members will conduct Masonic raveside rites. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Brent Childers, one sister, Ermalee Eaton and two brothers-in-law, Robert Eaton and Bill Peck. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Deloris Beckett Childers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Carl Sullivan of Huntington and Becky and Dale Kyle of Barboursville; three sons, Danny Childers and his wife Sherrie of Barboursville, Randy Childers of Salt Rock, WV, and Tim Childers of Barboursville; one sister, Dolcie Peck of St. Charles, MO; nine grandchildren, Tara, Todd, Lori, Scot, Kelly, Sara, Tyler, Ian and Whitney; ten great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; six step great- grandchildren; and his caregiver, Rosie Ragland. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Steele Memorial United Methodist Church. Becky...so sorry for your loss. When our dad died, your dad gave us such comfort when we saw while making funeral arrangements. Your dad was a mainstay to those of us who grew up in the village. Love you, Ruth

I cherrish the times @ Barboursville High School as a baseball coach . One of the reasons I am so fond of all the wonderful memories was the presence and assistance of Denzil Childers. He was always there and was vitally important to the success of our program. May you rest in peace kind servant. You will never be forgotten. David Hetzer
