Earl was one of the best people I've ever met. When I think about attending Elmwood Baptist as a child, the first two people that come to mind are Earl King and Harold Covert. Both of those men taught me thru AWANAS what it was like to be a caring, helping christian. I drifted from the house of God, but each time over the years when I'd be driving in Barboursville and pass Earl King driving his red Thunderbird, my mind would reflect on what I was taught as a child, by a smiling silver haired man named Earl King. I just mentioned him in coversation last week, I wish I would have called him up and told him how much he molded my life. I'll miss you Earl King and I hope to be remember half as fondly as you, your friend, Nicoli

Earl was such a good, Godly man and will forever be a great memory from my childhood at Elmwood. I will always rememeber Earl saying when asked how he was doing "better then I deserve." I loved walking in on Sunday mornings and finding him to ask him how he was so I could hear him say that. What a special man.
