1943 - 2012
 Col. Roy Clifford Clark, 68, of Milton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2012, after a 4 ½ year battle with bone cancer. He was born September 21, 1943, in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late John Clifford and Alta Ellen Chapman Clark. He was a former auctioneer and President of the Auctioneers Association. He retired from the WV State Treasurers Office. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Grethel Jean Crawford Clark; one daughter, Sherry Lynn McDonie and her husband, Jon; one son, Roy Clifford Clark Jr. and his wife, Lesley; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Kelsey Lane, and Stephanie McDonie-Vulhop and her husband, Andy; one great granddaughter, Violet Vulhop. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Graveside services will be conducted at noon Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Neal Cemetery, Milton. The procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Dear Mrs. Clark, I was so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I worked with Roy at the Treasurer's office and I thought he was a truly good man. May God comfort and bless you and your family in your time of grief.

Jean, it was indeed a privilege for Jeannie and I to have been with you and Roy, as he passed into the arms of his Lord! He left this world as he had lived it...gently, peacefully, and with dignity! You and Roy will always be people that put a smile on our face, when we think of you. And remember, the tears are for all of us, not for Roy!

I am very saddened to here the passing of this very sweet and funny friend of mine. We worked together for many years. He was missed when he retired but I know he will be missed more by his family. I am very sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my prays.
