My prayers and condolences to the family of a dedicated man of God. Richard always had kind words and a soft smile. He visited my father in the nursing home and spent hours by my mother's side as she was dying. Childhood memories of Richard driving his tractor on Cyrus Creek to till gardens still bring a smile to my face. Karen

Having known Richard Black almost my entire life, I consider myself blessed. I can still see in my mind's eye, Richard and Geraldine in the pews of Cyrus Creek Baptist Church. My grandmother thought a lot of Richard. She along with Geraldine were there to greet him as he landed safely on the other shore. So grateful for the Hope and witness found in the Resurrection. May you who knew him best remember him with a smile and live a life worthy of His Savior.

I had to write something for Richard. I knew Richard when we attended Cyrus Creek Baptist, and through the years Richard was the most kindest, loving people we have ever known. The last service I was in with Richard was at Mudd River Baptist - he preached on night, and I sat with him that night and it was just like old times - the community will miss Richard - he was nothing short of being an awesome man that showed Gods love, and his warm heart showed that every where he went. I can only thank God that I knew Richard - as we will miss him down here - I know one day I'll see him again in heaven. I pray that God will be with the family as I am sure they will miss Richard very much.... what a wonderful, wonderful person. " love you so much - Wendell L Mays

"uncle" Richard was one of the sweetest men I've ever known. He and my Dad, Harvie, Jr., loved each other since they were small children. All my time of growing up, When Rich would come to see Momaw and Popaw Black, us cousins would always get a hug and a God bless you. He was like my Dad, you never will forget him. He was one of a kind. You guys are in my prayers. God Bless you all.

My Condolences to the Family at the Passing of our Dear Sweet Richard. Our Loss is Heaven's Gain. But I know that he is with our Lord & Savior and would not want to come back if he could. I will miss seeing Richard at the different services and Revivals that I would run into him at. Once you met this man of God; He never forgot you. RIP Richard. You were Loved in this Life and now you are in the arms of Our Father and Loved even more than you ever imagined.
