Larry Scott McClellan "Scottie" Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1967 - 2012

Larry Scott McClellan Larry Scott McClellan Scottie, 45, of Milton, passed away on August 19, 2012, at St. Marys Medical Center. He fought a courageous battle against cancer. He was preceded in passing by his mother and father, Deloris Dora Smith McClellan and Lawrence Larry McClellan. He leaves behind his best friend and son, Joshua, and fiancé and caregiver, Cathy Mullins. Scott never met a stranger. He always had something funny to say and never at a loss for words. He loved life, enjoyed spending time with friends and family, riding motorcycles or just hanging out. He loved to travel, being a truck driver gave him that opportunity. He is survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Aunt Bobby and cousin RoseAnn, you both have been there for all of us through this difficult time. C. A. Thompson and Tim Wahoo Merritt, he thought of you both as brothers he never had. The Johnson Family, Rodney, Jane and Matt, he thought of you as a second family. Charlotte and Norman Adkins, thank you for your love and support. Your thoughts, prayers, and phone calls meant a lot to all of us. The family wishes to thank Hospice, Bobby and Ginger, for their wonderful care after we came back from Columbus. Thank you to OSU Medical Center, 10 East James and the medical teams for your lifesaving efforts and our extended families at Kohls and Home City Ice for your love and support. Angie and Trina, thank you both for your thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, family would request donations be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Josh and Cathy, Scott was such a personality and one that will be missed by many including us. Scott was a ball of energy like no other we had ever met. I remember the first couple times Bruce introduced me to him and I told Bruce after we left that Scott's personality was absolutely contagious and I wished everyone had that attitude. He always talked about both of you in our conversations. Praying for you and your family. Love and prayers Natalie and Bruce

Scott was always there for me and my family. He was like a brother for me growing up. Him and one of his best friends , my brother Alan Osgood were both male role models for me growing up. I can't recall any of our family gatherings he wasn't at growing up. Always made me laugh and smile everytime I seen him. I hope I have half the sense of humor he had. He made the best out of life. Thanks for everything Scott. And prayers and condolences to his family. Jerry Paul Simpson

Cathy and Josh, you already know how much we loved Scott. Although we had only known him a few years, we felt like he had been a chilhood friend. Scott was the most upbeat and friendly guy we ever had the pleasure of knowing. We are truly heartbroken over his passing. I just wish we could have had more time with him. Scott was taken way to soon. He will forever be in our thoughts and our heart. You just dont come across a friend like Scott in your whole life time. There will be alot of people who will miss him. We will always remember him as the Big Guy with the Big Heart. God Bless you both and keep you well.
