1991 - 2012
 John A. Butcher II, 20, of Barboursville, walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 5, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington after a courageous battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was born on October 11, 1991, in Huntington, the son of John and Rosetta Hill Butcher. John graduated from Cabell Midland High School where he excelled in art and music. He was a naturally gifted musician and loved to play and sing harmony with his twin brother and family. John was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Carmen Butcher; maternal grandfather, Harry Hill; and maternal great grandmother, Ruby Ward. He is survived by his devoted parents, John and Rosetta Butcher, his twin brother Joshua, his brother Joey James; and sisters, Joetta Dawn Hickey, Lisa Childress and Tammy Franklin; and maternal grandmother, Rose Hill and a special cousin, Cara Hill. John leaves behind countless family and friends. A celebration of Johns life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012, at The Lighthouse Baptist Church, Milton, by Pastor Carl Merritt. Burial will follow at Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, and after 1 p.m. Sunday at the church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington or American Cancer Society.

Not that there are any words that can possibly heal your broken heart over the loss of your son, these words have given me comfort at many times over the years and I wish to share them with you. I pray Heavenly Father will give you and the whole family peace and comfort during this time and into the future.
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Love to all, Greg and Anita Hill-Racer
To John: Enjoy playing among the angels and to the many others who greeted you at the gates.

I am in shock, I cannot believe this.I am so sorry, I wish I knew what to say to take some of the pain away from you all, but all I can think of is 2 little redheads running around in the back yard in their diapers. They were the cutest little guys. Please know my prayers and thoughts will be with you all during this awful time.

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the mornings hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft star-shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.
