1964 - 2012
Elicia Faith Nicholas Bias, 47, of Ona, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, October 5, 2012. Elicia had a sweet, sweet spirit, a warm and inviting smile, and was a Godly inspiration to everyone who knew her. She is survived by her mother, Pat Nicholas of Milton. She was preceded in death by her father, Emzy Nicholas and her brother Larry Conner. Survived by her husband David Bias of Ona, and her two beautiful daughters, Carlie Nichole Bias and Cara Elizabeth Bias, who both loved their mommy very much. She is also survived by her nephew Kevin Conner of Milton, his wife Charity Conner, and their children Josh and Emily Conner, who affectionately called Elicia their Aunt Sha Sha. She is also survived by a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, and many many special friends. Elicia was an active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church of Ona where she had many Christian sisters and brothers that she loved deeply. She loved to sing praises to her God with her beautiful alto voice, and honored God with her servant heart- she was the ultimate giver - and always looked out for the needs of others before her own. Before she was married, she spent her youth and younger adult life as a very active member of Union Baptist Church of Milton - where she came to know her Lord - and was loved and mentored by her many church friends and family. She also served her God through participation in the Kairos of WV prison ministry and also through the Ashland Area Emmaus Community. She impacted countless lives with her ministry and service. Elicia had 2 education degrees from Marshall University. Before children, she taught in both the Cabell and Putnam County school systems, with most of her time at Hurricane Middle School. After children, she was a preschool teacher at the Pea Ridge Baptist Church Preschool. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012, at Bethesda United Methodist Church, by Rev. J. Williams St. Clair and Robert Nicholas. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Bethesda United Methodist Church in support of the youth ministries of her church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Hello. I'm listed above, but I've changed my name since I was a child. Not a lot of people know this, but my mom used to abuse me. Elicia was remembered as a good woman, but she hurt my sister and I a lot. I have PTSD and I am in therapy for it even to this day. Sorry to anyone who this disappoints, but I'm 22 now and this is the only closure I'll get for what she did to me. I didn't love my mommy very much. I feared her, and the god she and my father forced me to believe in. The same church I was assaulted in. My past is forever tainted.

I am so sorry for your loss. Elicia was such a beautiful person. She was a role model and spiritual mentor for me while I was growing up in Milton and attending Union Baptist Church. I could always count on her to do the right thing. I have found memories of her singing in the youth choir, leading me in youth Bible study, and getting her perfect attendance awards at church! I was so inspired by her worn well studied Bible full of highlights. She was so faithful. I also have great memories of her being my Mary Kay consultant. She came to my house on my wedding day and did my make-up for me. Her bubbly personality and cheerful smile is a sweet memory. Please know that I will keep all of you in my prayers. Sincerely, Suzanne Morrison Passero

Mrs Bias was a wonderful person that i got to know in first grade. I got to see her again when i got to middle school and have kept up with her when we ran into each other in Foodland or Walmart. i never got to meet her husband or girls but i know they were extremely special to her as she talked about them all the time. David,
We would like you to know that you and your family have, and will continue to be, in our thoughts and prayers. Our family, too, has lost several members to cancer and we know what a difficult experience this illness can be. Your strength and faith is a guiding light to others who may have to deal with trying circumstances such as this. May God bless you and your family.

David, Carlie, Cara and Pat, you have been some of the luckiest people on earth to have either been the husband of, the mother of, or the daughter of Elicia. As Rev. Bill says, she was "dialed in" and I know here beauty inside and and out is lighting up Heaven. We loved her and we love you. Lil and Bruce

For those that did not have the chance to know this amazing, loving and Godly lady, I can only hope you meet her in Heaven, because we all know that is where she is at. I have so many memories with her and the best aunt, which was more like a sister, anyone could ask for. I can't imagine how empty this world will be without her smiling and precious smile. She was an amazing wife and loved her girls like nothing else. God blessed this world 12 and 8 years ago with those glowing bundles of joy that will be protected by their mom forever. I love you Elicia and will miss you greatly.

It does seem so long ago Elicia was playing with my niece Cathy Perry. They had lots of good times playing in the playhouse in Cathy's yard. Elicia will be sadly missed.

The world is a little darker now that Elicia's light has left us! She was, without a doubt, one of the sweetest people that I have ever know. She helped me at a great time of need...and for that, she will always have a special place in my heart. David and girls...if we can do anything to help now, please let us know. I am at Hurricane Middle everyday...one of her favorite places on earth!

We are so saddened to learn of Elicia's passing. She babysat our boys years ago when we lived across the street. From the time we met her in 1975 - she was a bubbly, sweet girl who loved everyone. Can't even imagine the pain her family is going through but we are praying for God's love and comfort to surround them all. Heaven is sweeter now!!
