 Michael Lee Adkins, 55, of Scott Depot, WV, passed away at home on Nov. 17, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Phillip Bower. Entombment will be at Valley View Memorial Park in Hurricane. Mike was born on March 8, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, son of late Maedell & Millington Adkins, Jr., and has been an engineer at Tri State Coating of Salt Rock, WV, for 14 years. He is preceded in death by two brothers Gary Adkins & Mark Adkins. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol Adkins, and a son, David (Heath) Marion of Milton, WV, and four daughters, Starlah and her husband Jeremy Wilcox of Hurricane, WV, Erica Adkins Harper of Beckley, WV, Daphne Adkins of Scott Depot, WV, and Talisha (Till) and her husband Paul Allen Lycans of Fort Gay, WV; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Bryce, Gavan, Michael, Tevan, Tyler, Trey, Mattie, Nicholas, Cassidy, & Whitney. Also survived by sister Tena Gue & her husband Timmy of Branchland, WV, brother Millington Adkins III of Beech Fork, WV, & sisters-in-law Vicki Adkins of Metamore, Mich, Rebecca Smith of Culloden, WV, & brothers-in-law Richard and wife Rita Guthrie of Cross Lanes, WV, Dana and wife Theresa Guthrie of Poca, WV, and Warren Wingo of St. Albans, WV. Also survived by many special friends and family. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Mon., Nov 19 at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, WV. Mike touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Carol,
I am sorry I could not make it to Mikes service Monday with Debbie.
I was shocked when I heard the news and it has been on my mind since I heard.
I just wanted to let you know that I was thinking about you and the kids and to let you know that all of you are in our prayers and thoughts.
I know that it is easy for me to say, but God will help you through these times.

Mike will be missed by everyone, especially all of his machine shop friends.
Last year I told Mike how thankful I was to have had the chance to work with him, following him on CNC lathes at Sturm back in the 80's.
He was surprised to know how I felt, almost not believing how important he was in my career.
We'll all miss his good nature and common sense, and especially his great sense of humor.
Some of Mike's knowledge will live on and on, as those of us lucky enough to learn from him will follow his lead and graciously pass it on to the next generation.
My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to Mike's family and friends. May you find some peace knowing that your loss is spread among so many of us, that together we can share the load.
