 Sarah Deacon Reed, 86, of Huntington passed away May 30, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, by Dr. David Lemming. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. She was born November 3, 1926 in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson "A.J." Deacon and Mary Heise Deacon Eden. She was a retired employee of Huntington State Hospital, a longtime member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, and loved sewing, quilting, weaving, and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon C. Reed, brother, Lony Deacon, and sisters, Betty Selby and Barbara Meadows. She is survived by three sons, Robin Reed and his wife, Ann, of Barboursville, Terry Reed and his wife, Stephanie of Wilmington, NC; and Britt Reed of Huntington; four grandchildren, Missy Reed and Heather Reed of Huntington, and Joel and Susanna Reed of Wilmington, NC. The family will receive visitors after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, PO Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709.

It is with deep sorry that i write this Sarah was such a wonderful person did so much for others. She was one of my favorite cousins its a shame all cousins parted and did not keep in touch.She is with her beloved wayne and in no pain

Sarah was one of my favorite people growing up at Lewis. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and always spoke softly and kindly about everyone. She will be greatly missed but Heaven is a better place today to have her there with her family and also her church family...we love you Sarah.

My sincere sympathies on the loss of an amazing woman. Sarah was so helpful to me when I was raising and milking goats. I loved her goat milk fudge!! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
