My deepest sympathies to Steve's family and friends. I attended Pharmacy School at WVU with Steve, and remember him as such a wonderful & kind friend. His sense of humor always seemed to break up the tension as we prepared for our various exams & laboratories. I know that Steve was proud to be a Pharmacist; I am honored to have known him. No doubt he served his patients well. I hope that your loving memories of this good man will sustain you through this time. Prayers for God's strong presence with you in the days ahead.

How do I EXPRESS my feelings now that STEVE is in HEAVEN with REX???
SOOOOO SAD that YOU, Steve, did not get to come up to River's Edge Campground and sit around the campfire with me at my camper in Ashton!!! You SOOOOO WANTED to DO THAT and I SOOOOO WANTED to MEET YOU *IN PERSON*
OUR CORRESPONDENCE was ALWAYS a JOY to my heart on Facebook!!! I am speaking as if you could read this yourself right NOW...And only YOU AND God knows whether you can or not. Sometimes I think God might allow that in his KINGDOM...MY ONLY JOY IS THAT YOU ARE PRESENT IN GOD'S HEAVENLY KINGDOM with JESUS and your DEAR DEAR DAD for FATHER'S DAY...HOW IRONIC~!~ Don't you think? I certainly DO. REX was my DEAR DEAR FRIEND here on Terra Firma...I know that you and I would have *hit it off* SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU ARE SO MUCH LIKE REX!
My heart is with your Momma now and the rest of your loving FAMILY still here to grieve your home going...GOD WILL give them all COMFORT thru HIS SPIRIT, as Pastor Lemming SAID SO ELOQUENTLY! It will just take TIME and lots of friends to carry them over to reconcile your loss~
When I get on the OTHER SIDE, YOU and REX will be some of the first people I will want to SEE! If you SEE Clayton Eugene Spurlock, will you tell him that I still cry and it has been over 2 years since he left me? He did NOT want to leave me~~~ BUT he had no choice. As you and your DAD had to GO when JESUS CALLED YOUR NAMES! REST FROM YOUR LABORS & KNOW it will NOT BE LONG until I join you in that FAIR CITY on the banks of the EVERGREEN SHORE! Have to try to go to bed NOW...Know this, I will be praying for your Mother...She has to be a really strong woman to have lost you and your DADDY just a few months apart! ~~~ I LOVE YOU STEVE! 3
YOUR FRIEND, Barbara Lynn ~~~

Steve talents were a asset to the pharmacy profession. His contributions to the well being of society are no doubt too numerous to count. I send heartfelt regrets to his family and his friends who survive him.

I met Steve when he was at Cabell Huntington hospital in the pharmacy dept. I was a young teen age girl volunteering in the gift shop. Steve was always a joy and pleasure to be around. He was one of the few guys out there that had respect for the girls and he always made me feel so important. I had rough teen age years and Steve was instrumental in restoring my faith in God. I lost touch with him for years and recently in the past year found him on facebook. I have had the pleasure of praying for my dear friend along with a host of people here in the VA Beach area. I'm sad I missed many years of friendship but thankful that in the last year I could reconnect and see his devotion to God still. Couldn't be happier that he is pain free and in heaven with our heavenly Father. I wonder what he saw when he arrived. I wonder how amazing that would be. May each of you who are reading have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Life is not over it is only beginning for Steve. My condolences go out to Steve's children and grandchildren. May God lead you and bless you in the coming days and years and may Steve's legacy not be in vein. May all of you know the precious love of God.
Sincerely,
Debbie Clark

My condolences to the Family. Steve is a great guy. Your Father,Brother,Uncle,My Friend will be missed. I had the pleasure of meeting Steve in the early 80s and immediately we hit it off. Although we spread apart over time we stayed in touch. God Bless you all during this time and hang on to the hope that Steve left us all in the Lord, that we will one day meet again.

I worked with Steve when he was serving as a pharmacist at Cabell Huntington Hospital. His nickname was "Steady", because he was. Always steady in his positive mood and approach to his duties and his peers and contacts. It was a pleasure to work with him... My condolences to his family and friends.
