1937 - 2013
 Donald Ralph Elswick, 76yrs of Huntington, WV , left this world for his heavenly home on June 8, 2013 at home. Ralph was born March 2, 1937, the son of Theodore and Nealy Elswick in Logan County, WV who preceded him in death, along with four brothers Eugene, James, Cyrus Elswick and Frank Osborne, two sisters Dovie Rollins and Corine Blankenship. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Verna Elswick and one son Donald David Elswick and his special friend Linda Barlekamp of Findlay, OH; two grandchildren Corey David and Tara Leigh Elswick both of Huntington, WV and our special friend Jennifer Weigul Jones who is like family to us of Charlotte, NC; one brother Bobby (Mary Ann) Elwick of Milton, WV; one sister Dorothy Gayhart of Beckley, WV; two special nieces Peggy Baldwin and Martha Cook and two special nephews Mike and Mark Elswick; a host of other nieces, nephews and friends including his church family at Altizer Baptist Church of which he was a trustee and Sunday school teacher for many years. He retired from C.I. Whitten Transfer Company with 27 years of service. His life was a blessing to others and he will always be loved and missed. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Pastor Cledith Campbell. Friends may visit from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Entombment will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace |

Verna, So sorry to hear of the passing of Ralph. He was an old friend from high school. Jim and I are very sad tonight, thinking about your loss and a loss of a very good friend. To us Ralph was a very special person and Jim and I both loved him. I am sure everyone will remember the excellent job he did preparing for our 50th high school reunion.

My prayers are with you during this difficult time. I attended Oceana High School for 3 years with Ralph and was always inspired by his attitude, his infectious laugh, and his leadership skills. He was truly loved by the 500 kids he went to school with!!!

We are so sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. We were neighbors of theirs in Altizer for many years. Ralph was always there to help us youngsters and gave really good advice. Our hearts go out to Verna and Donald and the family.
