Gretchen Alice Foster, 75, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Michael Hall. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born July 16, 1938 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Phyllis Whitehurst Holtzworth. She is survived by her husband, Greg Foster; three sons, Philip Foster of San Diego, CA, Timothy Foster of Pittsburgh, PA, and John Foster of Bradenton, FL; brother, Hank Holtzworth of Huntington; sister, Jo Ellen Holtzworth, of Pacific Grove, CA; Visitation will be after 11:00 am Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702. We just heard about the passing of Gretchen and are saddened. She was such a dear lady and wonderful Christian example for us all. Every time I see the plaque she made for our front door I think of Gretchen. May God comfort you in your time of grieving and always.

Dear Greg,
We just heard about Gretchen's death today. We are sad that she is gone. But also are glad she is no longer in pain.
We have such happy memories of her showing us her beautiful flowers and yard. You and Gretchen showed us what a happy marriage could be like many years ago.
May God give you and your sons much comfort in the weeks, months and years ahead as you live a different life without her.

Very sad to hear about Gretchens passing,My thoughts and prayers go out to Greg, and Gretchens children,and their family,she was such a good friend thru high school,she was always laughing,and so much fun to be around, I was blessed to be old friend of hers,I will never forget our church camp,the most fun you could have for 2 weeks,she was an inspiration to all, who knew her, such a beautiful person.
