Darrell Darrell "Duke" Clagg, 74, of Milton, passed away November 10, 2013. He was born November 4, 1939, in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Everett Clagg and Vernice Jordan Clagg. He was the owner of Clagg Lumber Company for many years. He loved life and never met a stranger. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Lou Markin Clagg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Sue and Matthew Norris of Milton, and Jacqueline Ruth and Juan Lopez of Winston Salem, N.C.; one sister, Mabel Edwards; four grandchildren, Derek Anthony Hutchinson, Tia Nan Elizabeth Hutchinson, Niko Lopez and Alexandra Lopez. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2013, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Paul Meadows. Burial will be in Rimmer Cemetery, Ona. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

I have heard so many great stories about my Dad. We had a memory tree at the Funeral Home. It is Thanksgiving and soon will be Christmas. We miss you Daddy.

I'm so sorry to hear about Dukes passing.We just loved him so much,such a kind man and could always make us laugh! He will be missed greatly by many and the Flea market will not be the same without his smiling face and a waving hand!!!! Sending prayers to the family during this time. Duke was a good person with a great heart. He was a friend of my family. He was always smiling, and He had a spunk like no other man you could meet. Sorry to Derek, I know what kind of an impact the loss of your grandpa will have on your life and i hope you go on to tell everyone how great he truly was and don't let him down no matter what.

Growing up we use to go to Clagg Lumber for all our building Supplies. His Company even built a Bick home for my Father. My thoughts are with your family at this time.

I rember Duke raising funds for "Little Pete Hayes". With the help of my daughter Heather, I bought a Furby from Ebay and took it to him to be auctioned off on Wkee radio. He couldn't wait to tell me that we got $500 for it and the buyer donated it back to "Little Pete". His smile was worth a thousands words.
