Margaret E. Dodds, 94, of Barboursville, WV, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at her home. She was the daughter of the late John S. Dodds and Bertha E. Sullivan Dodds. She was preceded in death by her brothers T. Clifford Dodds and his wife Helen of Bakersfield, CA, John T. Dodds and his wife Jean of McMinnville, OR, Kenneth R. Dodds and his wife Martha of Barboursville, WV, Robert W. Dodds and his wife Avanelle of Huntington, WV; her sisters Erma Reynolds Stone and her husbands Hershel Reynolds and Emery Stone of Huntington, Nellie Ruth Preston and her husband Shade and two brothers-in-law F. Gay Kayser and Dan Dow of Bakersfield, CA. She is survived by a sister, Deloris Janet Kayser Dow of Bakersfield, CA; fourteen nieces and nephews and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews. Margie, as she was called by her family and friends, worked for the Exxon Corp. in Charleston, WV, and Baltimore, MD for 30 years. She was a member of Regional Heights UMC in Baltimore where she was active in the United Methodist Women, Sunday School teacher and Childrens programs. Following her retirement she moved back to Barboursville to live in her family home. She was a very active member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Women, holding offices in the local church, District and Conference levels. Margie was involved in community volunteer work. She volunteered with The American Red Cross working with both the Blood Program and Service to the Military. She volunteered with Contact of Huntington. She received several awards for her service. She was a member and officer of the Barboursville Women's Club. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and was believed to be the only granddaughter of a Confederate Veteran in the State of WV at the time she joined. She loved to travel. She traveled to the British Isles, Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East and the Holy Land. She drove across the United States and up and down the east and west coasts. Margie was a loving and gentle lady. She loved her Lord and lived a strong Christian witness as well as her family and friends. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of Huntington. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Dr. John Sauvage, Rev. Ralph Sager and Rev. Julia Bolling. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Margaret and I worked together in District and Conference United Methodist Women for many years. We shared the work and the road trips.She was truly an inspiration to me and so many others. She will be greatly missed. Jane Morse
