Bishop Clyde Wilburn MitchellBishop Clyde Wilburn Mitchell, 79, of Peterstown, WV, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 in Monroe County, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday January 30, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Bruce E. Keeling. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born April 8, 1934 in Hurricane, a son of the late Hartley Edgar and Eulla Pansy Burton Mitchell. He devoted his life as pastor and evangelist in The Church of God of Prophecy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet Markin Mitchell, one son, Craig Andrew Mitchell and one brother, Opie G. Mitchell. He is survived one daughter, Joan Mitchell Jennings, of Peterstown, WV; two sons, Timothy Mitchell of Huntington and Mark W. (Lisa) Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL; one sister Hermetta Keeling of Huntington; several grandchildren, Danielle Brock, Amanda Brock, David Earnest, and Arin Mitchell; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

So very sorry to hear this news. However I know he is rejoicing in Heaven and the angels are glad to see a very faithful servant come home I'll see you there buddy for this world is not my home. I had many a good laugh and great time with Uncle Wilburn. Now he rests lovingly in the arms of God. Monday God called a good and faithful servant home, after a life well done, in service and devotion. I will miss him, but know of a coming reunion one day.
