1936 - 2014
Franklin D. Perry, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Frank was born November 3, 1936 in Barboursville, WV, to the late Jack R. and Edna (Clay) Perry. He was the best friend, dance partner and cherished husband of Doyla (Legge), whom he married on January 23, 1959. He was the dear father to his two daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Daly and Jacquelyn (Nicholas) Berchtold, and the beloved Papaw to three grandchildren: Maya Daly and Shannon and Adam Berchtold. He is also survived by siblings, Eileen Ray of Huntington, WV; Ronald (Eleanor) Perry, Judy Mora, Sharon (Bill) Reinhart all of Bradenton, FL; Dixie (David) Nash of Port Charlotte, FL; Kaye (Tom) Trammell of Payson, AZ; and Wayne (Joanne) Perry, of Barboursville, WV. He was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Perry. He also leaves behind a large extended family of cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Frank was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Texas, Korea and Delaware. He was a graduate of Barboursville High School and Marshall University. He was employed for over 31 years by Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Computer Systems Analysis. Traveling, being a member of the Stardust Dance Club, dinners out and game nights with dear friends, and winters on Anna Maria Island brought him enjoyment over the years. He will be lovingly remembered for his singing, ballroom dancing, handyman, gardening, and storytelling talents. More than anything, Frank was an innately good man, always genuine and kind. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Rev. Timothy Waugh. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

I am sooo sorry to learn of Frank's passing. I was, however, aware of his illness. I went thru school with Frank in Barboursville, BHS Class of '54. I always considered him a Good Friend.
Living in Texas, I last saw Frank at the BHS 2008 class reunion. I got a nice picture of him with his 55 Chevy at that reunion, which I put online in a Barboursville page in facebook.
My sincere condolences to Doyla and the rest of the family. Frank will be missed.
RIP Frank!
