
FAY OPAL SPENCER, 87, of Ona, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law with whom she made her home the past year. She was born October 14, 1925, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Ernest and Flossie Markins Mohr. She was also preceded in death by her husband Floyd Elven Spencer, two brothers, Fred and Paul Mohr, and two sisters, Loraine Weatherholt and Coleen McCallister. She was a retiree of Sears and Robuck Company and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Ona, W.Va. She is survived by two sons, Theadore (Kellie) Spencer of Salt Rock, W.Va., and Timothy (Kayla) Spencer of Ona, W.Va.; two daughters, Floyann (Kent) Sargent of Milton, W.Va., and Paula (Kent) Bias of Ona; four grandchildren, Bradley Spencer, Brook Spencer, Deronica (Butch) Culp and Jeremy Wooten; one great-grandson, Cody Culp. She is also survived by two sisters, Frances Weatherholt of Vinton, Ohio and Betty Carter of Ona, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Forest Memorial Park Mausoleum, Milton, W.Va., with Pastor Don Weeks and Pastor Bill Davis officiating. The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 and until noon Friday at the home of her son Theadore at 5050 Upper Toms Creek Road, Salt Rock, W.Va. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington especially the home caregivers and Dr. Teresa and Dr. Wayne Thacker for their genuine compassion and care.
