John, I never will forget all the years growing up on the Guyandotte River and catching snakes at Jesse James cave. Those are some of the finest memories. I was just talking to Lawrence that I never knew anyone who didn't like john. Finally, John, Something that you said to me once that has stuck with me all these years: "It all belongs to God and if He wants it back all he has to do is ask." A real tribute to your faith. I love you buddy. Shawn

I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to the family. I worked with JT for several years and he was something of a mentor to me. The world will be a more boring place without him.

I worked with John at Gestamp. John was more than a co-worker, he was a friend. I, along with many others, am going to miss him terribly. I always looked forward to his stories and drawings. John had a big personality and a huge heart and I am glad I got the chance to know him. My prayers and thoughts are with his kids, know he was proud of you and spoke of you daily. Prayers and thoughts for the rest of John's family and others whose lives he touched. To know John was to love him.

Dear Family & Friends, Even though I only got the wonderful opportunity to meet him once, he was so fun, full of life, and had experienced so much. I could just sit and listen to him for hours on all the stories of his life with his family & friends. I know he will be missed by so many, such a great loss. My prayers are with everyone & of those who hurt so bad and can't even begin to explain how much you all will miss him. Love to you all, Brenda Lee - Chris Lee's wife, Chris Lee 1st cousin to John.

John Thomas.... my heart is just broke. I am going to miss you - your stories, and drawings and you singing that silly song about someone bumping his head. You are such a wonderful person. I am so glad I got the chance to meet and work with you. Go sing with the angels my friend.

I worked with John at Gestamp and am deeply saddened by his passing. He was more than a co-worker to many of us, and was always an uplifting person who was full of joy and cared about everyone. I will never forget our daily discussions on politics and the state of the world (and how it would affect our children). My heart goes out to his children and family and all of the other people whose lives he has touched. He will be missed, and while I'm sure he has moved on to a better place, it is never easy for those of us left behind. What will always stick with me will be his awesome laugh and unique sense of humor. God bless us all.
