1945 - 2016
 Aaron Jay Chapman Sr., of Ona, WV, went home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2016. He was born March 15, 1945, in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Louis Chapman and Josephine Harless Chapman. He was a member of Susannah Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Cabell County Schools. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 49 years and 11 months, Alberta Sue Sowards Chapman; two sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron Jay Chapman Jr. and Michelle, Troy Dale Chapman and Tedda; five grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Zachary, Eli, and McKenzie; three great grandchildren, Kaya, Bradley, and Elizabeth. The family would like to thank the Oncology staff at HIMG and the staff of the 6th floor Oncology unit at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Steve Hinkle and Minister Randy Hall. Burial will be in Culloden Cemetery. Sue, Troy and other family members, we want to send your our sincere condolences in the passing of Aaron. I have know him since about 8th grade at Milton jr. High. and worked with him some in the summer months at his school. I cannot take away the pain or the loneliness that you folks feel, but we have and will continue to lift you up in our prayers. Gods blessing be upon all of you today and always.

Sue, Jay and Troy - I was so sorry to see that Aaron had passed. You have my prayers for comfort. He was a great man and was always so nice and sweet to me. May God bless you with great memories and comfort you during this time. Love you all, Patty

My thoughts and prayers go out to Sue and family. Aaron was my old buddy when we both worked at the Board office when it was on 20th Street. We had many good laughs.
