French M. "Buck" Woodard, 76, of Milton, W.Va., went home to be with the Savior on Thursday, December 15, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Buck was an honorary member of the Milton Volunteer Fire Department. He was an auto mechanic all of his adult life and a pillar in the community. Buck was well known for always stopping to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was born November 18, 1940 the son of the late Ilma and Charlie Woodard. Buck is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Renatha Smith-Woodard; three sons, Tracy J. Woodard of Milton, W.Va., Kelly S. Woodard of Lesage, W.Va., and Tommy Smith of Eden, MD and one daughter, Tammy McDaniel of Cambridge, Ohio; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one brother, Jack Woodard; four sisters, Mary, Beverly and Pat Woodard all of Milton, W.Va. and Elsie Wroten of Saint Albans, W.Va. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Troy Nicely officiating. Burial will follow at the Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane, W.Va. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at the funeral home.
