1931 - 2016

Dorothy Anne Schuetz BrownDorothy Anne Schuetz Brown, 85, of Barboursville, passed away December 25, 2016. She was born September 15, 1931 in Greenville, PA, a daughter of the late Herman and Jean Black Schuetz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Brown and her son-in-law, Brian Keith Paul. Dorothy is survived by son, Terry (Beth); daughter, Linda George (Tim); son, Danny; daughter, Cathy (Ralph); grandchildren, Amy, Zachary (Jordan), and Dylan Brown (Ciara) and their mother, Brenda Brown, Alli Hodges (Seth), Brandon (Amy) George, Megan Paul (Lee), Lenza Paul (Michah) Bryce Paul (Christina); great-grandchildren, Noah, Reece, Norah, Ellison, and Krosby; brothers and sisters, Gerald and Eunice Schuetz, Betty Kingsbury, Fred and Jane Schuetz, Bob and Jeanie Schuetz; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Dorothy was a very loving, kind, and generous soul, who grew up in Greenville, Pa, where she met and married our dad, Jack Brown. Dad’s job brought them to Huntington, WV. They bought some property in Barboursville, and built their dream home. She was in charge of keeping their four kids in line and raising us right. She loved to bake. We always had home made cookies in our lunches and dinner at 6:00 pm. Dorothy was always very active in church. Her church family could always count on her to do whatever they needed, drive them to wherever they needed to go or cook a dinner for them. She was famous for her pies to us all. Dorothy was a busy volunteer in her life. She spent many nights volunteering for Contact of Huntington Suicide Prevention Line and St. Mary’s Medical Center. She worked as a secretary at St. Mary’s Medical Center Respiratory Therapy Department. After retiring from there, she drove cars for Enterprise Car Rental. She loved to drive. Dorothy was loved by so many. We would like to thank Midland Meadows for taking such good care of our mother. Mom is now leaping and dancing and praising with the Lord. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Dot Brown was such a kind and funny person! I loved talking with her! I worked with her quite a bit in her last few months and I loved every second of it! She will be greatly missed but she is in a wonderful place. RIP Miss Dot, and prayers to her family during this time
