ATHELEA ELAINE BAKER, of Washington Courthouse, Ohio, formerly of Huntington, W.Va., passed away the morning of Feb. 5, 2017, in her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Sylvia Jeffers, and brother, Arthur "Jeff" Jeffers. She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, John Baker, daughter, Deleda McMahon, daughter, Michelle Nibert, and son, Walter Baker, son-in-law, Shane McMahon, daughter-in-law, Chelsea Baker, grandchildren, Andy McMahon, Katie McMahon, Kayla Nibert, Owen and Celia Baker, great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Gavin McMahon. Also surviving are sisters, Pat and Roger Vernatt, Glenna and Roy Franklin, Oleda Holley, and sister-in-law, Judy Jeffers. She attended the 18th Street Baptist Church for many years and will be remembered for her faith, love for family and home cooking. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by Minister Richard Harp. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
