
Agnes Irene Clagg, 97, of Ona, W.Va., went to meet her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2018. She was born December 25, 1920 to Fred and Margaret Diehl of Ona. She was preceded in death by her husband Thurman “Gene” Clagg; sister, Louise Flynn and brother, Donald “Gene” Diehl. Mrs. Clagg is survived by four children, James (Ellen) Clagg of Milton, Reba (Bill) Anderson of Fayette, AL, Kenneth (Paula) Clagg of Mansfield, OH, and Rodney (Susan) Clagg of Bellville, OH; one sister, Juanita Nance of Ona.; nine grandchildren, Sally Bowen, John Clagg, Beth Clagg, Jeffrey Anderson, Laura Hurst, Greg Clagg, Michelle Luckey, Meghan Oyster and Sarah Reber; three step grandchildren, Teresa Merry, Sandy Campbell and Terry McComas; 18 great grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Clagg was a member of Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church, and Gideon’s International Auxiliary. She was a 1940 graduate of Milton High School. During World War II, she was a “Rosie” factory employee who made magnifying glass for weapons and telescopes. She was a loving mother who was active in PTO and scouting activities with her children and, help mate to her husband of 75 years. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church with funeral services starting at 3 p.m. with Pastor Greg Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Garden, Barboursville. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandson-in-laws. Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday school class and employees of Paramount Midland Senior Living, Ona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideon’s International.
