Susan,
We are so sorry to hear about Dave's passing. There are few words that we can share that will ease the pain during this time.
We have been in NC for 33 years and are always late in getting news from Huntington. We would love to hear from you.
Please accept our sincere condolences.
Love, David and Reba

Kathy and I send our sincere condolences to Susie and Dave. We were so fortunate to work with David and witness his dedication to journalism. His columns stirred many conservations and often touched issues not at all popular, but there it was smack dab in front of us. Good journalism makes us happy, makes us mad, makes us sad, and most importantly it makes us think. Agree or disagee or remain neutral- David did this for many. He put the spotlight on the good and light into the dark corners hidden from most. We will miss him. Tim and Kathy

Sorry to see this. I only met Dave Peyton a few times, but relied upon Dave's movie reviews a lot when I was living in Huntington. I remember him as gruff on the surface but warm-hearted underneath.
Condolences to Susan as well. I will always remember Susan fondly from the time she escorted Mom and me to Washington D.C. as the newspaper's representative for the national Spelling Bee in 1977, back when I was an extraordinarily callow teenager.

Dave's absence leaves a hole in the life of Huntington. I am glad he was able to write the last few columns. I suspect most Huntingtonians have a favorite column of Dave's. Mine was about the sleep out of the Coalition for the homeless in 1987, I think. I need to find it in the microfilms and share it with others. Susie, you have been a special Huntingtonian too, with your work at Mountwest. I wish you and Davie the best as you face your changed lives.

Susan, so very sorry for the loss of Dave. You two have been together for over half of your life and I know there will be such a void now. Your memories, however will be your comfort. I always read his column with a smile on my face, while wondering what hell he was going to raise that day. He made a difference!
