1966 - 2021
 Jackie “Conner” Ray II, 55, beloved husband of Lola Denise Brewer Ray for 25 years, August 24, 2021, unexpectedly passed from this life Sunday, August 29, 2021 at his home. He was the oldest son of Lynnette Poynter Ray and the late Jackie C. Ray. He graduated from Huntington East High School in 1984 and Cabell County Vo-Tech Nursing School. He served in the U.S. Army and was an LPN for about 15 years. Also, pre-deceasing him were his grandparents Leslie and Elsie Poynter and Ralph and Gertrude Ray, father- and mother-in-law Theurl and Carolyn Brewer, stepfather Burl Spreacker and nephews Bryce Maxey and Christopher Scarberry. Surviving Conner besides his wife and mother are sister Miriam Maxey, brother Nathan Ray, uncles Sidney Poynter (Rosa) and Fred Ray (Judy), aunt Jeanette Ray, stepchildren Scott, Meaghan and Zachary Lucas (Megan), step-grandchildren Parker (his buddy) and Krislyn, brother-in-law Mike Brewer (Kim), sisters-in-law Kimberly Scarberry (Terry) and Marsha Edmonds (Tommy), his faithful Aussie Seger, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring loving friends. Pallbearers are Mike Brewer, Scott Lucas, Zachary Lucas, Terry Scarberry, Megan Hysell and Cameron Brewer. Visitation will be Friday, September 3, 2021, beginning at 1 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with service at 2 p.m. and interment following at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Conner way back in 83 and 84. He lived next door to my dad's girlfriend. All of us would spend most summers running around on the tiny street their houses were on. I lost contact with everyone. I am heartbroken to see this. Conner was a good guy. I am so sorry for your loss.
