Russell Taylor Raines Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1935 - 2022 Russell Taylor Raines, 86, of Barboursville, WV, passed away May 24, 2022. He was born August 4, 1935 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late George and Lois Davis Raines. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Ann Nogosky Raines; sons, Mark Raines of Culloden, WV and Jeff and Joey Raines of TX; daughter, Amy and Michael Bradley of Barboursville, WV; brother, Charles “Huck” Raines of Huntington; sisters-in-law, Frances McCray of Highpoint, NC and Polly Widener of Barboursville; and five grandchildren, Josh, Zack, Reagan, Scotty and Alex. Russell's father was George Raines, long time supervisor and route coordinator for Ohio Valley Bus Company. Many may remember him from his station at Ninth St and 4th Ave.

Russell Raines was the father of one of my best friends from elementary school, Mark Raines. Russell sometimes umpired Little League baseball games that I played in. He always went out of his way to be friendly and encouraging to me and the other players. He was an honest and honorable man.
